    Following their merging with Hawaiian Airlines, Alaska Airlines pursued a feasibility study to park Hawaiian Airlines widebody jets at Gates C8 & C9 at ANC. John was responsible for civil design and analysis of wide body aircraft parking at Gate C9 for regular service with minimal disruptions to neighboring Gate C8. Alaska Airlines proceeded with the recommendations and restriped both gates to accommodate the newly scheduled seasonal widebody flights. A test flight by Hawaiian Airlines proved successful with both pilots and ANC ground crews participating. Regular widebody service commenced for the Summer 2025 season with flights utilizing gate C9 twice daily at ANC.

     John supported the design team for this roadway reconstruction project improving drainage along Mary Avenue. The project had support from the neighborhood because residents had been contending with degrading pavement, ponding, and excessive storm water runoff. The existing roadway was strip-paved without curbs, gutters, or adequate drainage. The asphalt along the roadways was in very poor condition with crumbling, cracks, and potholes. The proposed reconstruction installed additional storm drainage infrastructure, while limiting disturbance along the Right-of-Way to reduce overall project costs .
