Senior Geotechnical Engineer
I was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska, and attended college at the University of Alaska Fairbanks where I graduated in civil engineering with an emphasis in geotechnical and arctic engineering. I have managed and performed inspections and subsurface investigations for geotechnical, civil, and construction projects across Alaska. I work closely with clients and contractors to manage the challenges associated with performing evaluations and construction in rural and urban Alaska. I work hard to maintain a strong track record of meeting schedule, budget, and quality expectations .

Jason's hobbies include:

Jason managed several phases of geotechnical evaluations with support staff, subconsultants, and Alaska DOT&PF client. He worked closely with subcontractors and project engineers during weather delays, broken tooling, and unexpected soil conditions. He provided subsurface reports and geotechnical recommendations for bridge design using LRFD methods and site work and pavement for highway design.
Jason managed compilation and presentation of the enhanced Preliminary Engineering Report with support staff and ANTHC client. He performed home-to-home surveys in Nightmute for community engagement and led 65% and 95% project presentations in the community. He worked closely with the project engineers, client, and community to design a water and sewer system that would work and be supported by the community despite challenges with land ownership and schedule and budget constraints.
Jason pursued work with two clients in Adak and obtained five combined dam inspections from both clients. He worked closely with client agents in and out of Adak to perform the inspections and provide recommendations for future improvements. The quality of the inspection reports and Jason's responsive communication provided additional work with one of the clients in an opportunity to create O&M Manuals for two of the dams.
Jason managed a geotechnical evaluation with support staff, subconsultants, and an out-of-state client. He performed a geotechnical analysis considering subsurface soil, including peat and soft soils, liquefaction, and cyclic softening. He considered deep and shallow foundations. He provided a geotechnical report and recommendations for shallow, spread footing foundations, site work, pavement design, and peat removal.
